Hi, I am choosing chants for St Paul conversion mass. As the offertory, I would like to include "Mihi autem nimis" but I don't like the "Graduale Romanum" version. I was thinking of using the beginning of the more simple Introit version instead. The text is the same. Is it a problem to use the introit melody as the offertory? Thank you

At the Novus Ordo you are allowed to substitute a proper with another "appropriate" chant. So you could sing the introit at the offertory at the Novus Ordo. You are not bound to any other liturgical rules or ideals. With the Traditional Latin High Mass you cannot change the proper text, but you could change the music to the a polyphonic setting or a psalm tone. Even if the polyphonic text is based on the introit's melody it would be ok to use it during the offertory.
